Brownie Christmas Party

What a great Christmas celebration our Brownie Troop had today! We started off going to see our dear friend Mrs. Smith. She is 92 years old and was a Brownie leader in 1945! To say she enjoys seeing these girls in an understatement. She wants to hear what they are working on and what their badges represent. We took her some Christmas cookies and sang Christmas carols for her along with a few rounds of Happy Birthday for all of our Brownies having birthdays this week. This was like Christmas Day for her! I know that the girls could feel her appreciation as she was delighted to see them.

We returned back "home" to work on our scrapbook gifts (although I think many girls made them for themselves!). Mrs. Jackson explained the values of scrapbooking and the basic skills and the girls got to work. Cropping, stickers, and adhesive and we had many cute books created.
AnnMarie, Paige, and Claire listen to the
importance of telling stories about your pictures.
Thank goodness for big sisters! Mackenzie's older
sister Cassie helped Claire crop her photos.
Lily made a beautiful album for her
dad.
AnnMarie and Paige worked next to
each other and shared stories about
their pictures.
It was then on to the cookie exchange. I asked everyone to share with the group the type of cookie they made. We had molasses, chocolate covered oreos, chocolate chip, Hershey kiss surprises, gingerbread men, and Lindy and Paige's marshmallow treats (post to follow!). With a bag filled with goodies to take home we had a quick badge presentation over snacks. Everyone earned their Dancercize Try it along with other fun badges for our food drive, ice cream party, horseback riding, and celebrating Juliette Low's birthday this fall.
It was a great afternoon, Merry Christmas girls!
