Our "Official" Anniversary Dinner Celebration

Kids -

This is Robert's, the restaurant where we celebrated our anniversary. We ended up going last night instead because something happened to the oven on the day we were to go. Daddy found this restaurant in his Gourmet Magazine, the cooking magazine he likes to read. It is rated as the best restaurant in Charleston and I would have to agree. He told me a little about it but I really didn't have any idea how amazing it would be.

We arrived for our reservation at 7pm and received a personal menu welcoming us to the restaurant. The menu is more of a guide and a keepsake because what is being served is already figured out except for your choice of a main dish. This was a five course meal so I had to eat a little of everything they brought me so I would have room to try everything!

We had jumbo crabcake, BBQ breast of Duck, Poached Peach Salad, Chateaubriand (this is a fancy kind of steak) and for desert Tangerine Creme Brulee (the dessert Daddy really likes). I loved all of it, even the things I had never tried before and I tried everything. Important lesson here everyone, even when you think you don't like something you may love it!

One of the neatest things is that Robert, the chef and who owns the restaurant, sings opera. He comes out between preparing courses of food to sing opera. It is amazing! I lost track of how many songs he sang but we did not leave the restaurant until 10pm which put us there for three hours. They also only have 12 tables, it is a very small restaurant so Robert comes around to chat with everyone. It was one of the best meals I have ever had in my life and the entire experience was very romantic and Daddy did a great job choosing the restaurant.

At the end of the evening while we were enjoying our dessert Robert goes to each table that is celebrating a special occasion and sings to them. So we had a special anniversary song sang to us. Here is a picture of us with Robert and the top of the menu with our special occasion printed on it. When you all get older we can have a little party there one night as a family. It is definitely a special place!
