A History Lesson for the Boys ~

Kyle and Ethan -
I have been meaning to post this. This statue is of John Calhoun, the 7th vice president of the United States. He was very important to the state of South Carolina and also held Secretary of War and Secretary of State positions. Look here for more info about him.
Our hotel is on the corner of King and Calhoun and there is a park right across the street that has a statue as a tribute to him. With your interests in Presidents I thought you both would like this.
I have more little history lessons to share with you!
See you soon! Love Mom

I have a book, "Know your America" 'A suggested study course in Americanism' put out by the American Legion, that has Flag, Declaration of Independence, The Consitution, and all the Presidents, up to GWB, in a soft-sided 106-page book, that I will TRY to put in the mail THIS WEEK to Kyle and everybody else. I will get some other publications from the American Legion to send out also, but I'll get the book in the mail this week. Anything else I can find, I'll mail, too!
