Blue Bicycle Books

Ok kids, this is a neat little treat from our vacation.
On Friday, while Daddy was finishing up at his meetings, I was wandering the streets of Charleston. Down the street from our hotel, I stumbled upon this very quaint bookstore. It is filled with tons of old books in many rooms, it is like an adventure. I found things I read as a little girl!
Anyway, in the window was this book, The Humours of Folly, with photographs by Frank Braden and written by Ellie Maas Davis. There was a sign up that there would be a book signing that evening! (For anyone else reading, this is the beach that we have been going to as a family for the past 7 years). Well, I had to buy the book and thought it would be so cool to have an autographed copy to bring home to all of you.
Daddy and I headed down to the bookstore that evening and had the pleasure of meeting both Frank and Ellie. They were both delightful authors and wrote all of us notes in the book cover. You will all think it is very cool! The book has so many places on Folly that you will recognize. The painted boat we pass when we enter the island in on the front cover. You can see the pier and the beach shop we go to buy all of our beach treasures. Daddy and I have really enjoyed reading it when we are resting from all the walking.
The owners of the bookstore were kind enough to take a picture of all of us together. I will tell you so much more about the authors when we get home! We had a lovely evening chatting with the owners and authors. It was something special that we will always remember from our anniversary trip and a wonderful way to meet people who live here.
Hope you are having fun with Aunt Gretchen! Love you all, Mommy.

Blue Bicycle Books really has a blue bicycle with books right by the front door!

Here is the front of the store announcing the book signing.

Here are a couple of pictures of Daddy and I with the authors, Frank and Ellie. I am holding our book.

Super cute store.

Also, your hair looks real cute in the bookstore pictures. Of course, it looks cute in ALL your pictures, but here, somehow different. What'd you do to it?
