Sunrise Walk

6:48am

Bill and I had grand plans of waking early each morning and walking on the beach. We had to DRAG ourselves out one morning to enjoy the sunrise. At least we got plenty of rest on vacation! It was worth getting up for. We walked down to the end of the island which was deserted and watched the sun come up together. So peaceful in so many ways (all parents know what I mean!).

Happy Birthday Lindy & Paige

Lindy and Paige had "the best birthday ever!" We had a quick party, literally an hour after their friends got home from school and before we had to go to dance. Short but sweet! We had beautiful cakes made by my friend Angie that the girls helped choose their designs. Their friends brought gifts and we played a quick game. Complete girl world!
Paige's horse cake.

Lindy's Monkey cake.

And the most beautiful picture of the afternoon, Emma and Erin! BFF's!
Kyle made the most hilarious card for Paige! One you have to read to get but trust me it was awesome, you can tell by the look on her face.

Such best friends, a great group of girls who just love being together!

9 Years Ago Today....

It is quite surreal to have two babies wheeled into your hospital room. To this day I still look at Lindy and Paige and can't believe that we have twins. It is an extraordinary experience to watch two babies come into the world together and be the best of friends. They have a bond unlike other siblings and it is so incredible to me that our family has been blessed with such sweet and special girls. They have grown so much in the last 9 years! I am so proud of the people they are becoming and the sisters they are to each other and their other siblings. Happy Birthday Girlys!
Seems like it was yesterday!

Lindy always on the left and Paige on the right. No matter how far apart in the crib we put them this is always how we found them!

We had visitors from all over and Aunt Ann was so excited to see the girls! There are no other twins that we can find anywhere in our family so everyone was very excited to see the girls. We had visitors for months!
Last week at the beach.

Tooth Fairy Visit

Yes, the tooth fairy comes to the Beach! Erin lost her first tooth on our third day of vacation. Thankfully the tooth fairy was on call for something like this happening and was prepared to make a stop in South Carolina. What a bittersweet moment that was for the baby of the family to lose her very first tooth. She was so excited and it happened right before our evening walk. It didn't stop her from her shelling adventure. She was so excited about all her finds. After she filled her own pockets (to the point her skirt was falling down!) she filled all of our pockets!

Progression of a Wave

Kyle went to the ocean for the first time when he was two. He ran right down to the water yelling, "my big pool". We would take him out into the water and he would call the waves "the bumpies". He has been almost every summer since and loves it as much as he did when he was two. These pictures bring back lots of memories. The white blond hair is gone and so is the little body but he's still a kid at heart!

For Kim

Kim- I know you saw the text pictures but wanted you to see the bigger image. It was so beautiful to see the sun going down over Jonah's name. The kids were so happy to do this for you! Hope its even better than you imagined! I especially love how Ethan is wearing red. See you soon!

Beach Fun Day One

There is something instantly relaxing about walking out onto the deck of the Beach House and seeing this. It's definitely an ahhh moment! We had such a great vacation and now that I have my pictures all uploaded I can finally post. I spent most of my time on the beach or on the deck. This was our seventh summer at Folly and it won't be the last. The best part is knowing where everything is, it almost feels like a home away from home. It's our fouth year at this house and the kids love staying at the same place. They have their "rooms" and have their favorite spots. I have to say I miss the sea air. We had an absolutley wonderful trip. Can't wait to go next year!
An empty beach for the week. High tide coming in and some serious beach action. The kids spent most of the whole week in the water.
